So it's the end of another month of 5th grade. What bit of information have you learned this year so far that has really "stuck" with you? It can be in any subject, on any topic.
State what it was/is and explain in a paragraph or two, the impact it has had on you, and what impact it can have on you in the future.

I learned how to do more math and if I ever am going to do a math related job I would use the math I have learned during the time I have learned math.

Ryan, I think you should of been more in depth about that job or wrote about another one so it would be longer.

One thing that I learned that will stick with me is another way to do multiplication. I used to mostly do partial products but this looks like another easy way. Another thing that will stick with me is that I now I know how to make a Ifrographic, which could help me if I ever go the business side of things.

Ever since I learned about "the power of ..." it got "stuck" in my head. This is like, 2 to the power of 3 is 2 three times: 2x2x2=8. It might impact my now for knowledge during school. When I get a job💰💰💰, I might get a better chance of getting hired.

One lesson that has really stuck with me this year is our first jar lesson. When Mrs.Ritter put in all of that food coloring, I finally understood what she was explaining to us. Rumors spread really easily. The hard part about rumors is erasing them. Once you start a rumor about someone (or something), no matter how much you apologize, you cannot make that person forget. People remember the mean things they have experienced more clearly than the nice ones, but not very fondly. Once a rumor is created, no one will completely forget it. This was a very meaningful lesson to me. I will carry it with me throughout the rest of the school year and as I move on. Thank you Mrs.Ritter!

I agree with you Zainab, this lesson was meaning full. And one that I will never forget. I also really like the way you organized your paragraph. :)

One lesson that really stuck with me this year is how to add and subtract decimals. It has always been a hard subject for me to learn especially when we have to do it with big and large numbers. It will impact me for when I get older and get a house. It will let me do my own math to see if the people at the store using calculators are correct or incorrect.

I agree with you, Nolan. A lot of the math lessons we had has to do with decimals. I’m actually used to it, and it’s good to know your decimals when you are grown up, ESPECIALLY when it has to do with money.

One of the things I`m stuck with is multiplying with is multiplying with double digits. Multiplying with double digits has always been a nightmare for me since 4th grade . But, when I looked at a page, I started to get it. Then when Mrs. Ritter reviewed it with us, I finally knew how to multiply double digit numbers!

I totally agree with you Chelsea, multiplying double digits were a little tricky, but Mrs.Ritter explained it very well. Next time, maybe elaborate a little more.

2 digit multiplication stuck with me too. I also was stuck by the math unit that we have finished on estimating numbers with decimals. I can use this knowledge to estimate the total payment that we have to make at the register after picking up groceries from the store. Most of the time, me and my brother compete on who will get the closest estimated total at the store.

A lesson that has really stuck to me is the second jar lesson. The importance your love of something can effect the balance of your love to others, it just makes me think WAY deeper. If you love the smaller things more than the other things, you will eventually forget about the other things that actually help you survive and support you. You will soon lose happiness because of your loss of helping hands and be more cranky. Pretty soon, you may have depression. Forever. You will be stuck loving the things that just give you something to live for. Your family will become sad as well, seeing their family member not treating them with love and respect. This could happen all because of misjudgement and placing your love onto something else.

Preach Michelle, so many people in this world have had there life ruined by something insignifagant, like cigarrettes and even a screen. Nobody wants to end up like that and this lesson made it sure we won't.

What’s really stuck with me are infographics. It’s like a collision of writing and drawing, which creates a masterpiece. I’m pretty much a fan of those, and I had fun making an “ice age” infographic with my partner. I look forward to doing more on each project. Infographics are nice and colorful, which is another reason I like them. The pictures grab my attention when I see them, and once it catches my eye, I get interested.

I agree with you, Preston22. Infographics are something I probably never would’ve learned, but I am glad I did. When I do my projects, I have a limited amount of ways to present. Now that I have learned about inforgraphics, I can use them for projects! This adds to my list! Thank you, Mrs.Ritter! You really widened my options, and not only with infographics!

I think something that has "stuck'' with me is reading Mr. Peabody's Apples. I think it really shows how rumors spread and have an impact on somebodies life. Something else is multiplying 3 digit by 2 digit numbers. Ever since Mrs. Ritter taught us I have just been really good with it. Stuff like that comes easy to me.

What I learned in the class was in the jar lessons one because it was really deep. Also really true I think it’s true because in the jar lesson with the food coloring each time some on spreads a rumor they can’t take it back. Also if they try to take it back they can’t because in order to get the color out of the water you need to dump it out and refill the jar.

One lesson that really stood out to me was the Power Of Yet. It taught me about perseverance and what you should do when you are stressed out. It also taught me ho the brain works. And it also taught me how yo-yos work.

What I learned, is the jar lesson. It is a very unique and distinct lesson. And it also spreads a valuable message. Rumors are very easily spread. I am going to keep this lesson with me, for the rest of my life basically because rumors are literally every where you go.

What stuck with me is the jar lesson. It shows that rumors can not be cleared up. To show that Mrs.Ritter put food coloring in water. The water was no longer clear no matter how much we tried to make it clear. We then learned that rumors can not be cleared up and the water is no longer clear. The impact that it has on me in the future is that whenever you spread something, it will spread forever and it will never clear up.

One thing that stuck in to my brain was the first jar lesson. It stuck to my brain because it really showed how rumor spread. Also, it showed how hard it is to find the truth after the rumor has spread all over.It can help me in the future to not spread rumours.

What really stuck me was the Hardness Scale that I learned in Science. I learned about the different kinds of rocks and minerals. Geologists are like investigators that have to find out what kinds of rocks and minerals they found and how to classify and sort them. There are still many minerals that are not discovered yet. They only found about 4,000. This skill will help me in the future because it will help me to identify fossils on rocks.

The one thing that I think will really leave a mark on me for the rest of my life is the second jar lesson. It lets me know that if I keep on focusing on the small details of the picture I lose sight of what the picture was made for. After the lesson every night instead of going to my room to fall in the grasp of my PS4 I would spend all that time having a good time with my family. After that lesson and ESPECIALLY after my grandma ran out of time family always came first. When I have my own family I will especially make sure that I take care of them and put them above money.

One piece of information that stuck out to me is the math unit that we have finished on estimating numbers with decimals. I can use this knowledge to estimate the total payment that we have to make at the register after picking up groceries from the store. The price of most of the items in the store involves decimals with $0.99, $1.99, $2.99 etc. being the most common. Most of the time, me and my brother compete on who will get the closest estimated total at the store. I am always able to estimate very accurately nearest to the whole number for the total payment amount at the register.

I have been getting stuck with some of the reading and answering questions passages because sometimes I have to read the passage TWICE to really understand what is going on. However I do always get most questions right because of that strategy. Although this strategy does slow me down, it is great strategy for the reading and answering questions paper. What Also helps me is using the mini rubrics under each question. This helps me organize my answering/writing.

I am getting stuck on multiplying decimals because you need to get really, really accustomed to decimals and multiplication in order to be good at it.
