Last week, we talked about if we had the choice, what we would want to learn about in class. I LOVED all of your responses and...well, I want to continue that thought. What else would we want to study or investigate into if we had the chance? Maybe someone else's interest sparked an idea for you!
Maybe study or research something specific? Maybe try a special art activity? What about something where we need to work in groups or partnerships? In 2 paragraphs explain what you would like to do in class, why would you like to do it (the importance to you), and what the impact would be on your classmates or the school (how does everyone benefit from your idea). Be sure to include how it can relate to what we're learning, our everyday lives, or our future lives. Who knows, your idea might be something we do! Please remember to follow the rubric for blog posts (this also includes responding to a classmate's response as well). Remember that a sentence response for a paragraph will not be counted!

Last time I used all three of my ideas. But during the past few days, I came up with a new idea. Maybe we can create our own books. It can be a poem book, a comic book, a picture book, etc. I realized we were lacking books in the classroom (mostly the Wimpy Kid ones) and we need more. So we can make our own without Mrs. Ritter having to spend any money. All we have to do is make copies of the original books we create and then put it somewhere around the library.

I really like this idea. It would be cool to contribute to the library with books we create (maybe even in a special book bin)! Sounds like a fun project; it would b really cool to actually do this.

That’s an amazing idea Preston! But, seeing as there’s 32 kids in our class, wouldn’t that waste a lot of paper?

I agree with you Preston because creating a comic book would be a good idea to add to the classroom library.

This is a great idea and I can't wait to do this if we do. This is similar to the Pigeon books we made in the beginning of the year.

This blog post is simalar to last week’s. My idea is that we can write letters to the staff in general at P.S.18. We’ll write thank you cards to the people that helped us develope our academic skills and behavior. If you have a letter for someone specific, that cool too- like your teacher.

One thing that I would like us to do in class is that whichever table has the most amount of table points gets to choose what they want. For example, if table 1 wins they can choose lunch with the teacher (If Mrs. Ritter allow's or likes it.) There can also be no homework for a day. Everyone that was in Mrs. Stathes class should know this. Please have in mind that the prizes will vary upon Mrs. Ritter's choice.

There is a flaw in this idea (no offense). You have to me more specific on school type of things more than anything. You can literally have one day off of school if it means anything

One thing I would love to do in class is to make the whole class makes a period to do anything. For example, a period like movie period or comic book period etc.

That sounds fun, but I think we should do it near the end of the year, because right now we’re doing a lot of stuff for the ELA state test and we still have school work, and I REALLY like your idea. Maybe we should do it every Friday.

Nolan, I mean no offense when I say this but wouldn't you want the end of the year to be more... extravagant. We already do this a lot in class and we could possibly do it for genius hour. I think just one period wouldn't be enough. I know you don't hold grudges and I hope this doesn't turn into one.

One thing I would like to do in class is at the end of they year. So, I have a blurred memory (I think in 2nd grade) about something we did like a secret Santa. All I remember was that I received a funny "how to draw a comic" book from Michelle. I was thinking we could do it towards the end of the year.

Great post, Lamisah! Next time, try to write two paragraphs instead of one. Also tell us how this activity relates to school. I would really enjoy doing this activity in school, though!

Last time, I wrote about a research project. So this time, I am going to suggest art and writing projects. First, you choose a partner. But, it should be someone you know really well. Then ask them for a few of their favorite hobbies that you know all about (their style, type, speed, etc). You have to use what you know about them and write an instruction sheet. It's like the "exact instruction challenge," where your partner does EXACTLY what you wrote on the paper. You have to write instructions that would make the result look like something they would normally write or draw (etc.) I think this would be fun because you get to switch places. The results would also be really funny! At the end, each person could give each other feedback on what they could've done to make the result closer.

Last time I asked for 7 up but now I would like too have an exercise period. We could all run around and get exercise outside. Sure it is not an team effort but it is beneficial. I will get people to be more moving.

On my last blog, I wrote about and interest fair. So this time, I have created an idea that everyone can relate to. I was thinking we could have a "fair". I know both Mrs. Rodrigues' class and Mrs. Stathes' class did something fairly similar last year, but I thought we could change it up a bit. I thought it would be cool if we made fake companies and every Friday, for a month, we could invite a different class in to "sell" our products. We could use this money to get homework passes and mini toys, like in 3rd grade.

Last year, in Mrs. Rodrigues' class, we had a Maker's Fair where the whole class was split in to groups. Then each group had to make a product and worked on making a slogan, a name, and prices. After that, one day, some classes came to our class and we tried to sell our product to them with fake money. The group that got the most money got a prize

I still don't want to leave PS18 for middle school but if i had one wish, it would be to take advantage of all the clubs at PS18. If we had a contest to see which club was the best it would be a great time for all. If we used the place we had for field day, or possibly the classrooms we would have a great space. There would be many teams, ranging from ballroom to basketball. It also doesn't matter which year you were in that club.

I am still so sad to have to leave P.S.18 at the end of the school year. One more thing I want to do this year is to have an express yourself hour because different people like to express themselves in many many different ways. I love to express myself by painting whatever I feel. And my brother expresses himself by doing science.

Maybe we can make a board game. We can work in groups or not. It would be fun to make one especially because we don't have Toys-r-Us anymore. So it's harder to find good games. Board games can also be made by us and left for next years 5th grade class and then they can create one for the next class.

My idea is going to be 2 make little stores for kindergarten first or second grade. If you were in Mrs .Stathes' class, you probably remember this. It was really fun to work together and come up with ideas for stores.

What I would like to do is to do like a volcano project but find other component s instead of using vinegar and baking soda. It would be made with paper mache and we other stuff we would need to do research on.

Last week I was interest in Zainab’s idea, it seemed a lot of fun so, this time I want to do some type of debate, I personally like debate so it will be fun it will impact us because we can learn something new from that, and we could debate about what we are learning in school.

what i would like to do is a art group art project. i would want to make a group picture. where we would split the paper into four different sections and write a small paragraph. in the paragraphs we could wrote our favorite subjects and why. then we can also maybe put the paragraphs into the year books.
